INVESTIGATING THE INFLUENCE OF VISUAL MERCHANDISING ELEMENTS ON CONSUMERS’ BUYING BEHAVIOUR IN APPAREL RETAIL STORES

In order to keep retailers competitive in this largely online world, innovative visual merchandising has undoubtedly become the key importance. This study looks into the Hierarchy of Effects Model which illustrates the stages in advertising by highlighting the preferences of consumers. This study aims to investigate the influence of visual merchandising elements on consumers’ buying behaviour in apparel retail stores in Malaysia, specifically in the city of Kuantan in Malaysia. This study had adapted a quantitative research design. A questionnaire distributed to respondents at the age 18 and above. A total of 112 respondents had participated in the study. The results of the study show that a few elements like displays/pictures, colours, prices and celebrity endorsements are visual merchandising elements that were proven to positively influence the buying behaviour of consumers. The prices of items in clothing stores were found to be most influential visual merchandising elements whereas celebrity endorsements were the least influential element. The study also revealed gender and age factors do not have any significant influence on the preference of visual merchandising elements and consumers’ buying behaviour. Recommendations have been made by the researchers to take into consideration by future studies for further improvement in the research area.

TOWARDS AN EFFICIENT AND TRANSPARENT GOVERNANCE IN PAHANG STATE GOVERNMENT AGENCIES

A nation’s development level is commonly measured through the domains of economics, infrastructural, societal, residential and environmental dimensions. An excellent and organized performance measurement framework further emerged as a necessitated imposition in appraising the realization of national ambitions, whilst concurrently determines required endeavors towards greater international heights. The approach is fundamentally set to assess an organization’s competencies in delivering an admissible level of pertinent services at the appropriated investments and occasions which conformed their predetermined objectives or goals. Performance evaluations ensue on the account of services’ quality, capacity, efficiency and outcomes.
Facing continuous rampage of the COVID-19 pandemic, governing entities across the international landscape have constantly transformed their legislations and executions in light of residential requests for increased adaptability and certainty. Concerns tackling the lack of a comprehensive framework which describes essential elements to superior bureaucratic executions during moments of stability and ambiguity by government agencies within the state of Pahang then prevailed as a significant exploratory gap. Therefore, the objective of this study is to propose a comprehensive framework that covers various aspects of superior governance and should be adopted by all departments/ agencies in the state of Pahang. The current article is especially operationalized in addressing the mentioned loophole through centralizing both elements of efficiency and transparency as the two (2) most crucial aspects to superior state governance. Obtained findings followed the development of a comprehensive framework with five (5) generalized elements, which include 1) viable, responsive and adaptive organization, 2) livable and sustainable urban management, 3) financial resource reengineering, 4) relationship and collaborative strengthening, and 5) project management strengthening. Both values of efficiency and transparency are potentially achievable by the State Government of Pahang through implementation of these elements.

THE CONCEPT OF REPENTANCE AND ITS IMPLICATION TOWARDS MITIGATION IN MALAYSIAN SHARIAH COURTS

Repentance is one of the noble characters required by Islam. The noble character plays a vital role in constructing the serenity of an individual as well as Muslim’s community. Repentance inflicts the chance for a Muslim to improve himself for a brighter life and blessing from Allah SWT. This article aims to discuss the concept of repentance in Islam and its implications for mitigation in Shariah courts in Malaysia. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data is collected through books, journals, statutes, proceedings papers, Shariah Court cases. The data obtained were analyzed using inductive analysis method. The results show that the jurists agree that "repentance" can be the reason for the release of the crime from hudud punishment provided it occurs before the criminal is arrested. Repentance has an effect on the removal of sins both in this world and in the hereafter. In the hereafter, the person will not be punished, while in the world, repentance will be able to alleviate the punishment imposed. This study is very important to give an understanding to the community about the role of repentance in building a brighter life opportunity and blessing of Allah SWT.

منهج الإسلام في مواجهة الشائعات

خلق الله الإنسان وشرفه بالعقل، ومنحه السمع والبصر والفؤاد لينتفع بها ويستثمرها في طاعة ربه تعالى ؛
ويحافظ عليها بتحري الدقة في القول والعمل . وقد ابتليت المجتمعات بداء خطير أصابها بتقطيع الروابط
بين الأفراد ، وانتشار الفتنة والحيرة والقلق وتدمير القوى المعنوية للأفراد ؛ وهذا الداء الخطير هو؛ انتشار الأخبار
الكاذبة والشائعات المغرضة بين الناس؛ وهذه الشائعات وجدت على الأرض مع وجود الإنسان ، وتطورت على مر

الزمان ، وحتى يومنا هذا .ولهذه الشائعات خطورة عظيمة على المجتمع وعلى أمن الناس ؛ لذلك كان لزاما
أن نتعرض لهذا الموضوع من خلال هذه الدراسة ، ونبين مفهوم الشائعات ومدلولات تلك المصطلح، ونتعرف
على أنواع الشائعات ، وخطورتها على الفرد والمجتمع ؛ حيث تتسبب في نشر المنكرات بين الناس ، والهزيمة
النفسية التي تصيب الناس بسبب الشائعات ، وخاصة وقت الحروب .
وتكمن خطورة هذه الشائعات في أن لها تأثي ر على عواطف الجماهير ، وتأثيرها على عقل الإنسان وقلبه ونفسه ،
وتستهدف الفكر والعقيدة والروح ؛ وذلك لتحطيم المعنويات ؛ مع ما تسببه من ضرر في قطع الروابط بين أفراد
المجتمع الواحد . لذلك قمت بوضع خطة لمواجهة هذا الداء العضال ؛ وذلك عن طريق التربية الإيمانية الصحيحة

إن ترجمة القرآن لها طرق خاصة كما اقترحها العلماء المسلمون المتخصصون في علم الترجمة, فهذه
العملية منتشرة منذ أكثر من زمان وكذلك ما حدث في بلادنا هذا. هناك من الذين قاموا بتعليم
القرآن وعلومه لأبناء البلاد فأصبح يتطور العلم إلى مادة اللغة العربية ومنها النحو والصرف والبلاغة
ولا سيما الترجمة على أن يستطيع الطلاب فهم معاني القرآن من دون فهم اللغة العربية. والحقيقة
تجري العملية لتساعد المسلمين الذين ليس لهم القدرة على فهم لغة القرآن ولو بعدم معرفتعم اللغوية
العربية. جاءت المقالة بدراسة مقارنة في ترجمة أفعال الأمر بين تفسير الرحمن لمعاني القرآ ن
(TPR) وتفسير نور الإحسا ن (TNI) من سورة البقرة مركزةً على طرق الترجمة اختارها المؤلفان
حين ترجمة أفعال الأمر فمنها يبدو أنهما أخذتان بعض طرق الترجمة المعينة ولو بدون إرادتهما حتى
أصبحت الترجمة نسخة مترجمة ينتفع بها الأمة. وبالتركيز على طرق الترجمة الحرفية والمعنوية والتي جاء
بها نيومارك ) 1988 ( فقام البحث بتحليل ترجمة الآيات المتكونة من أفعال الأمر وما هي الطريقة
ذهب إليها المؤلفان ,مع استخدام المنهج الكيفي الوصفي المكتبي وصلت النتائج إلى أن المؤلفين قد
مالا إلى اختيار طريقة الترجمة الحرفية والكلمة بالكلمة والمعنوية. وعلى هذا المنطلق يشير إلى أن
ترجمة أفعال الأمر في سورة البقرة من التفسيرين تفضل طرق الترجمة المختلفة بما تعتبر أن ترجمة القرآن
