ELEMENTS OF POLITENESS OF LANGUAGE IN THE WAY THE PROPHET SAW INTERACTED

Abstract

The politeness of Rasulullah SAW in interacting with his companions should be emulated. The various elements of manners that he applied in his daily conversation made each of his words have certain messages that need to be highlighted. However, there is a conflict among the society due to the use of language without the decency. To avoid that happen, Islam advocates methods that guide the community to communicate in harmony by emulating the way of the Prophet SAW interacted. This article uses descriptive and thematic method to explore hadiths that are closely related to the issue of language decency using qualitative research technique. The results of the study found that there are several hadiths that present the pattern of language politeness in the elements of the Prophet SAW speaking. Overall, the relevance of this article proves that the value of politeness in hadith should be implemented in society to encourage them to interact with manners and ethics of communication in the community thoroughly.
